When I graduated from college, I moved to Cleveland to work for the American Greeting Card Company. That was 10 years ago. I wasn’t working at AG for long, so I didn’t produce a lot of photography for the Company. But still, whenever I was out shopping, I’d check the greeting card aisle hoping to find one of “My Greeting Cards” for sale. I did this for a couple years with no luck, so I eventually stopped looking.

This past holiday season friends of mine, who are also clients, unknowingly sent me “My Greeting Card”. Yeah, “The Card” I gave up looking for years ago. The one that I thought was never printed. There it was, right in front of me. Someone else bought it and mailed it to me. Strange, I know. I had to check my digital file archives to make sure it was really my photograph. Though honestly, a photographers usually know when its their image, even after 10 years. Only if my friends could have refrained from telling me that “My Greeting Card” was in the sale bin and was being sold for less than a $1.00.
